For the past two years I have had the great pleasure of working with the ARCHIV FRAU UND MUSIK – INTERNATIONALE FORSCHUNGSSTÄTTE
IN FRANKFURT AM MAIN (ARCHIVE OF WOMEN IN MUSIC
INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH CENTER
IN FRANKFURT/MAIN, GERMANY).
I filmed, engineered the sound and cut together 8 interviews of woman from the music world: composers, musicologists, historians, etc for their project called MASCHA (MusikAkteurinnen SCHaffen Aufmerksamkeit – Ein Videoprojekt des Archivs Frau und Musik).
I traveled all over Germany (with my suitcase and backpack full of equipment) and got to meet some pretty fantastic people:
The project was led by Mary Ellen Kitchens M. A. and was first coordinated by Anne-Marie Bernhard M.A. before switching to Julian Fischer M.A.
The final videos were then published through the online portals of the DDf (Digitales Deutsches Frauenarchiv).
A few months ago the archives contacted me again and asked if I could cut together an image film for them. We ended up creating an English and a German version.
This whole experience has been a great pleasure and I hope you enjoy the videos (and people)!
